CO-FOUNDER & FINANCE DIRECTOR
Katie has fifteen years of post-qualified accounting experience, working primarily in commercial, business partnering roles at the likes of John Lewis, Hobbs, and Hello Fresh, as well as working on two sale transactions.
She specialises in helping business owners understand not just what their numbers mean, but what actions will improve their business's financial health.
With experience ranging from acting as a single-person in-house finance function to leading a 10-strong team, Katie brings practical financial expertise that goes beyond traditional accounting. She is passionate about making financial information accessible and actionable, focusing on practical steps that drive business improvement and profitability.

MARINA CHISHOLM
CO-FOUNDER & CLIENT DIRECTOR
Marina's professional path has been shaped by a love of both strategy & operations, as well as a passion for gaining a deep understanding of not just the businesses but the people involved.
Throughout her career, she's developed expertise in optimising how businesses work, culminating in her last full-time role as Chief of Staff at a Design & Build agency specialising in workplace design.
Marina has a keen eye for identifying opportunities for change, helping business owners implement better systems, streamlining operations, and creating processes that scale with growth. She brings a hands-on approach that goes beyond advice to deliver real operational improvements.

HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Laura brings her people-focussed operational management experience to the Sure Thing team, with a background in creating systems that enhance both people management and business efficiency.
Throughout her career, she's developed expertise in bridging HR leadership and operational excellence, focusing on onboarding, recruitment and professional development processes, compliance, data accuracy, and providing key metrics that support informed decision-making.
Her experience also includes collaborating with finance teams on invoicing, payroll, and cost controls, contributing to overall operational sustainability.

Charlie brings over a decade of hands-on experience leading operations and shaping strategy across tech startups, scale-ups, and mission-driven organisations. From early-stage ventures to a unicorn fintech and not-for-profits, she’s known for a calm, people-first approach that delivers clarity, momentum, and meaningful change.Charlie has built high-impact HR functions, delivered multi-million dollar SaaS programmes for asset and wealth managers, supported executive teams, and led cross-functional initiatives spanning fundraising, marketing, project delivery, and operational excellence.
A certified Executive Coach practitioner, she bridges strategic execution with leadership development, helping founders and teams build smarter systems and lead with greater confidence.

FRACTIONAL CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Cherry brings nearly two decades of operational leadership expertise to the team, with significant experience in high-profile organisations like The Economist, Vice News, and BBC.Throughout her career, she's developed exceptional skills in streamlining complex operations, managing international teams, and navigating periods of significant change.
As an EMCC accredited transformational/ executive coach, Cherry’s experience leading complex projects and organsational structures is complemented by her deep understanding of neurodiversity in the workplace, particularly ADHD, allowing her to implement inclusive systems that leverage diverse strengths.

Michaela is a commercially-focused finance manager passionate about making financial information genuinely useful, not just accurate. She has vast experience helping business owners make sense of their numbers and use them to steer teams towards the overall goal.
She loves untangling resolving historical finance issues and smoothing out processes to restore clean, accurate data.
Known for her calm, solutions-led approach, Michaela partners closely with teams to bring structure and insight to their finance function.

Sophie is a qualified bookkeeper and financial operations manager with a talent for bringing order and calm to small business finances.
AATQB-certified, Xero Advisor accredited, and PRINCE2-trained, Sophie has spent over a decade in operations management, building a sharp eye for the numbers that drive business performance.
Now training towards her AAT Accounting Qualification, bringing practical experience and a calm, considered approach to every client.
Sophie keeps the financial side of things clean, clear, and quietly under control, so business owners can focus on what they do best. -
JESS MAY
FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS
Far from your typical finance professional, Jess has spent five years honing her data analysis and financial planning skills as part of the UK finance team at HelloFresh (Europe's fastest-growing company in 2017).
Before HelloFresh, Jess supported the UK roll-out of Itsu as part of their commercial finance team, where she developed valuable site feasibility expertise. Her impressive career also includes supporting Nike, adding to her track record with high-profile, dynamic businesses.
Jess’s specialist skills include building sharp financial models, budgeting and forecasting, advanced Excel modelling, detailed data analysis, financial process improvement, and strategic decision support. -

VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
With a wealth of experience as a Executive Assistant, Louise has supported renowned clients such as Warner Brothers, Covent Garden Accountants, West End theatre producers EBP and Private Architecture firms, to mention a few.
She has since started her own VA business, joining the Sure Thing team to bring her diverse set of skills into the mix.
She’s passionate about helping business owners, whether large corporations or small enterprises, achieve their goals and streamline their operations.
Her goal is to empower our clients to succeed, combining professionalism with a personal touch in everything she does.
